Anaerobic Digestion Sites
This part of the web site provides more detailed information on sites where we plan to install biogas plants.
Planning consent for the first integrated scheme was granted in July 2010. This was for the integration of the Bore Hill Farm Biodigester with the redevelopment of redundant farm building into commercial B1 units in Warminster, Wiltshire. The scheme will provide rural regeneration, employment, economic growth & educational opportunities. Using previous experience in sympathetic redevelopment of disused rural properties the scheme at Bore Hill Farm will create a model scheme of low carbon development.
The great advantage of the Bore Hill Farm scheme is that many of the characteristics of the site which make it unsustainable as a farm (such as its proximity to the busy A36, its land locked position, the topography and delapidated buildings) have been incorporated into the redevelopment plans to provide a benefit for new businesses, the town and the wider community. The ability to provide a highly visible and clean alternative to landfill disposal makes it attractive as a destination for waste disposal and treatment. The integration of a visitors centre will allow waste collection & recycling businessesand their customers the opportunity to take advantage of the sustainability credentials that Bore Hill Farm offers. See the link below for further information on this site.
Additional documentation and background information will be posted on the Downloads and Links pages as it becomes available.
